For the CP Achilles, what size would you recommend if I measure size 8 brannock.
I wear a size 7.5D in Alden Barrie & 8D in Aberdeen & Hampton lasts.

A more important question is: how wide are your feet?

I got to say - I never would have known my CP Achilles size without having tried them on in store. Easily the smallest pair of shoes I own (from a listed size). My warning... if you can... really try to find someplace and try these on. Or, at the very least, find a shop with a very easy return policy.

EU39 fits me perfectly in CP Achilles. Wayyy too much room in the toe box on the EU40s. There was really a lot of confusion on the conversions through everything I had read about CPs. I went in totally expecting to fit into an EU40.

For reference - I wear
7 or 7.5 in Adidas
7.5 or 8 in Vans
7 or 7.5 in Converse
7 or 7.5 in Gucci/Ferragamo/Dolce
7.5 in Frye
7.5 or 8 in New Balance

I think I gave a good sample there.

Then I'd say size on the lower end of whatever the EU equivalent of your normal US shoe size would be (as opposed to downsizing). For you it looks like that would be a 40. Although, like has been noted on this page, trying the shoes on offers the best answer.

This is quite useful.

I would add that I rarely wear sneakers (until I discovered Common Projects Achilles, I'd never seen any other sneakers I liked). So in most oxfords/boots from Allen Edmonds, Alden, and European shoemakers, I'm a 7.5/39/40. For me, CP Achilles 40 fit fine. They are -slightly- longer in the toebox than any other pair of shoes I wear, but their narrowness means I don't actually feel like I'm wearing clown shoes when walking. And they don't look like they're awkwardly long, either.

So yeah, by all means try them out before buying. I took a chance on 40s and am satisfied with them. -Generally- I'd think someone who is 7.5-8 in US sizing should fit CP 39-40.

Just received my pair. Noticed a tiny scuff near the eyelet on the right shoe, accompanied by a small groove in the leather. This groove also appears on the left shoe, though not as pronounced. Has anyone else had this issue? It almost looks like it occurred while lacing the shoe. Worth exchanging or am I being neurotic?

Possibly a bit obsessive, but if it's gonna bother you, contact them about it and ask for an adjustment that would make it ok in your eyes, or exchange it.

Honestly, this is slightly neurotic if you ask me. It's the kind of "flaw" that any shoe or garment will get as soon as you have worn it outside even once. And I'm saying this as someone who obsessively babies his stuff...

Totally agree. No doubt it's a bit annoying that the shoe isn't 100% perfect but as soon as you wear them the box freshness is out of the window.

I'm OCD about such things, but honestly it doesn't look bad. My Achilles had some indentations on the tongue right out of the box, but it really hasn't affected their aesthetic or anything.
