Grey pants, brown shoes? - Page 2

Yes to the navy suit, no to both pairs of shoes. The first pair need more TLC than you've got, and the second ones are awful.

I defer to the Americans on whether conservative dark brown oxfords (balmorals) would be appropriate, given the UK fixation with black shoes.

But none of those are conservative in style (shape, two-tone colour, etc.).

If your choices are a crappy pair of black shoes or a crappy pair of brown shoes, I would go with the crappy pair of black shoes. At least that way, you'll draw less attention to your shoes in the interview and be wearing the most interview appropriate color.

here's my 2 pairs of black shoes. i'm not really in a financial position to get a new pair right now. if i get a job, then i will definitely get some. don't worry about the polish or lack thereof, i've been in the army for 10 years and can polish the crap out of them.

Wear the ones on the left, throw away the ones on the right, as time has passed them by.

black shoes on the left better than anything else posted in this thread

+ 1.  I can't believe you even had to start a thread to figure out the shoes on the left are the best ones for your interview.

Ok thanks. Any suggestion on which of the three aforementioned suits is best for an interview with the oxford shoes?

We'd be guessing at best based on the pictures you've posted.
