Not the greatest pic. Fucking with SF group think in more than one way here, gray SC + navy pants.

Butler, that fit is just... wow. monochromatic without being boring. would never have thought gray up top on gray down below would work but, holy! very nice indeed.

As a long time defender of grey sport coats, I ought to participate smile.gif

Grey herringbone tweed is classic.

Haven't worn it for months, obviously, but the thought actually makes the end of summer a little easier.

^^ @ canta. The shoulders look a bit extended. Are they? That's not a critique as I think the silhoutte is great. Just wondering about your fit choices. I'm thinking about having a brown tweed made up. Hadn't really thought about grey. But then I have a Harris grey in the back of my closet and I never wear it. Don't know why.

Canta, that jacket is great. Do you get extra points for the monochromatic background?

Too late for the challenge, but I don't mind me a grey jacket.

Usually a herringbone / Donegal is a lot more easy to pair up. Anyway - this is mine from Winter...

Otherwise, I'd gladly repeat this rig, though I might wear different shoes, and take a picture where the jacket looks a little better. Actually, given that it's 95 F here today, I'd love to be able to wear this again.

I usually wear the jacket with a white OCBD shirt, a knit tie and blue trousers, but I decided that I would try something a bit different and a little bit monochromatic.

The outfit in the (rather bad) photos consists of a pair of charcoal grey flannel trousers, indigo chambray shirt, mid-grey herringbone weave odd jacket, brown cashmere tie and chestnut shoes.

Interestingly, when I've worn the grey jacket with the white shirt and dark blue trousers before, none of the women in my office have ever commented on my outfit, but when I wore the darker, rather monochromatic combination above, I received quite a few, totally unsolicited compliments.

This one isn't really a contest, is it? It's not that there aren't many nice fits, but Butler's is the kind of fit that's so effortlessly superior that makes you want to give up and dress in a sack! smile.gif
