Why won't guys "slim fit" tees stay slim fit?

I'm a guy who loves his slim form fitting tees. What annoys the heck out of me is how they won't stay slim fit for very long after buying them! Maybe a few months at best. Eventually they end up like every other "regular fit" shirt, just kind of draped over me, the seams dangling from the shoulders. Why is that? I'm not talking like tank tops or anything, just regular short sleeve tees that are supposed to fit slim. They almost fit like a glove at first, but now as I type this one of my favorites is becoming baggy and loose.

I'm plenty sure it's not because of me being fat. I am slim, hence why I like wearing slim fit. Wouldn't wear slim fit if I were fat. Maybe this could be an issue of just low quality shirts? Does anyone have this problem besides me? Ideally a form fitting shirt should stand up to being worn against one's skin and not wear down.

Buy a new shirt? Or buy better quality tees. Also wash and dry appropriately.
