Chogall, a good shoe shop could probably raise the toe box for you. That might relieve some discomfort .

Yes, you are correct.

Just trying to point out toe box fittings are as important as ball and arch fittings, which is the prime reason why wholecuts/wingtip are easier to fit than cap toes.
