All about Levi's - Page 8

oops heh I was looking at the question on page 4, didn't see the more recent one. Look specifically at the ends of the belt loops, that is where I notice it most.

After looking around,I always come back to Levi's.I like the teenage fit,most of the other crap has this extra stuff going on in the hip area,I mean,hips are for girls.And a lot of the other stuff makes it look like the dude is trying waay too hard.

Anyhows,I see there are some Levi experts here,I'm not sure what is available.I like the 527,but I don't care for the low rise.I like the rest of the fit and I like the flare of the boot cut.I wear 550 a lot,but they are a little too relaxed than I would like.

Any suggestions?

Anyone have experience with the Levis 501 Rigid Selvage selling for $98 on the Levis site. How do they compare to other selvage lines from Levis and other jeans like Lee authentics.

nothing to write home about... Pay 90 more for the real deal (LVC)

anything specific issues with the cheaper one, like thinner fabric, bad hardware, poor stitching-poor indigo dye?
The price seems pretty good for a selvage jeans or is it basically a 501 STF

I don't think it's made of actual selvage denim. Instead, they just stitched some red fabric along the outseam.

it is made of selvage denim but when compared to LVC, you can easily tell the quality is not up to par. It is bartacked as opposed to hidden rivets, no chainstitching. Its made in Mexico, and its pretty much slightly better than the regular 49 dollar STFs. The fit is kinda out there as well, a size 29 fit me like a size 31.. Not worth 98 bucks and it is actually being sold as a 501 "Premium Wash" along with other crappy washes of 501s.. Not sold on the cut or quality

Does anyone know how much the inseam shrinks on the LVC '47s? I'm normally a 32 inseam, so should I order a 36" or 34" pre-soak inseam in these?

i hot soaked mine (34" length) and had to stretch them back to 31.5" from what was a little over 29". if you want some stacking go with the 36' otherwise you hands will be a little blue from all the tugging on the legs

I'd stay from the 501 rigid selvage that cost $98. One of my co-workers bought a pair and just returned them to buy a regular pair of of stf's after a week of wear.

^Seconded. I bought a pair two weeks ago and returned them the next day. The sizing is all over the place. The regular STFs are every bit as good. I'm still waiting on Denimbar to get more '47 LVCs in stock so I can really compare.

I really hate the back pocket stitching but must say I'm impressed with the fit of the regular 501 and STF.

What do you hate about the back pocket stitching? The arcurates?

Just thought I'd bring up the fact that it appears these Rigid Selvage Levi's appear to now be on sale for $24.98. They still have a good many sizes left, too.
