fully support loake's plans for higher-end shoes.

but don't discontinue the 1880 series. they are superb full-grain leather shoes affordable to many people.

I think a higher grade Loake line could give C&J a run for its money. I think the sweet spot quality wise would be something between CJ hand grade and bench grade.

Cheers!

No worries, if you read the article you'd know that they are damn pleased with their 1880-series, and by no means have plans to let that go. That will probably always be their trade mark series.

The shape and fit, comfort, the leather, it burnishes nicely, the victory sole has good traction in all conditions... It feels like a friend smile.gif

I bought from Herring and Pediwear, they normally offer discounts, and both has great service.

http://www.langer-messmer.de/ You can usually find coupons for at least 10% off online.

Free shipping for orders of 450 Euros or above world-wide. 16.95, otherwise.

Hey guy thank you much for your information.

Could you pls tell me when this discount offer? :D my first "real shoes" is AE fifth avenue size 8.

And now i'm planning for Loake shoes. Is there any must-buy model or recommendation?

I want something in brown/tan/cognac with wingtip.

:)

Great, i have a brother living in Germany so it could be easy for me to order.

By the way, is there any sites similar to this site in Germany and any shoes brand of Germany that I should consider? Just curious, people here mostly saying about British and US shoes.

Not strictly loake but I have a pair of George made for herring by loake in 026F last. Beautiful boots especially after bull shining it. One impression that I do get is that loake shoes tend to use what seems like 'tougher' leather than that of c and j or grensons. A bit like church shoes. So depending on how well the shoes fit the break in time may be quite long. Mine in fact is just starting to show mercy on my feet after a few months. Otherwise they make terrific shoes! smile.gif and yes I was between sizes and I opted for the smaller shoes so that is to blame too.

There is Eduard Meier, but I am afraid they are neither easily available nor in your price range.

Yeap I could only afford for ~ 200 GPB or less and i want RTW shoes. Bad luck, i really want a pair of Germany shoes :D

However, thank you for your site langer-messmer.de, i saw some Loake 1880 at better price than price in UK sites

Yes. The Langer & Messmer Brand itself has some great premium shoes in their collection.
