Has anyone seen these Anglesey boots in the flesh, or even bought a pair.
They say they are Oxblood, but in every photo I see they look like they're brown.

Hi yes we have those in stock and i confirm your suspicion - despite being called Oxblood they are much more like a mid brown.  We bought a line in for our stock because we liked them so much, and they look great in the flesh - if you like the mid brown of course.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

They're a good looking boot, but in brown I think they're too similar to a pair of Allen Edmonds Portland boots I already own.

Tried on some Hyde's today. Really love the look of these boots however as soon as I got them on my feet, felt instant discomfort/pain from the top part of the boot that meets the back of my leg. Now is this normal with wearing a boot and would this ease off as the boots are broken in? Kinda put me off as I'm currently suffering from wearing dress shoes.

Try lacing them up to the last-but-one eyelet while you are breaking in the firm upper part of the boot. I had similar with the Loake Wolf and this seemed to help.

I also just bought some Hydes and have the same experience.  Very "sharp" feeling around the top of the boot where it presses into my leg.  I am happy to tell you, this only lasted the first few wears and now they are completely comfortable.  If it becomes uncomfortable, just leave the last pair of eyelets unlaced.

Yeah I think this is relatively common with new boots. Eventually one of my most painful break-ins became my most comfortable, so it's not always indicative of how they'll end up fitting.

Anyone own the 771?  Is the insole all soft, or just the heel?

That makes me feel like I've done my job.   You chose a great shoe -- I own the exact same shoes and I love them.

For those who haven't seen this.

Just got a message about an interesting new line from Loake coming soon.

Yes, nice looking colour palette.

Be even nicer if they eventually move to closing the stitch channel too.

Did you see Loake's new Export Grade line shoes? Are these better than the 1880 line?
