Corrected grain shoes are hard to maintain from any shoe maker, not just Loake. I want a pair of Kew, always love the punch cap oxfords, too bad it's no longer available to purchase, wish it eventually be reintroduced.

Yes, point taken about corrected grain.

The Kew was short-lived I believe. Not sure why as it is a beautiful shoe and the leather responds very well to a bit of TLC. Let's hope it makes a return......

Thank you, it's one of their discontinued styles in the Comfort line, I picked up 2 pairs of black and brown when my local shoe store cleared them out.

Not a fan of those square toes (sorry) above but I am a Loake fan, I have 2 pair of 1880's that sadly get relegated more and more for my Carmina & Meermins these days. But the new Duke last looks nice as do those split toes Marco posted a few pages back. Does anyone who has worn both that and the capital last know how they compare? Understand it's a thinner fitting, which is fine because I've always found the capital to be a little roomy for me, more just worried about the last being too elongated?

Good that you asked, I asked Mike from Pediwear to help out with the different lasts on the 1880 range, which he kindly obliged and will get his Loake brand manager Stephen to write a description for, once I receive that, I will post it here.

Thanks. I like the looks of the 337 C&Js I've seen, but they do look a little narrow...

Damn it, I was hoping to find something to not like about Loakes. Might buy some mid-brown Buckinghams... It's those or dark brown pebble bluchers with lug soles.

Mate, go for it, Buckinghams are some very nice full brogues, and at Loake's price, you can have a few spare pairs laying around, haha.

I have both lasts. The duke is just narrower, not longer. The Mayfair is a longer / elongated last

Is anyone interested in an excel file regarding Loake sizing? I got it directly from Loake themselves.... Might attach it if anyone's keen.

go for it, would be a great tool for people trying to size up loakes and the different lasts.

Got this from Loake more than a year back. Doesn't tell you about how the lasts compare but should help greatly with sizing as it refers to stick length or foot measurements. It did for me.

As always, it's only a guide. Don't go writing to Loake if it doesn't fit 100%...
