Stretch denim?

Anyone have any tips on caring for denim with 2% lycra? I just bought a pair of Diesels that have this. I've never had a pair of jeans that have this before, and have always been against it, but the fit was perfect (Viker) and the color was also great, 8AA, and I decided that 2/3 wasn't bad. They are comfortable, but don't feel 100% like "jeans" when on. However it's the sort of thing I can see growing to really like for the comfort. Any tips besides wash cold and hang dry are appreciated. Also, can I assume the waist will remain pretty much the same size?

Yea, worn em a few times and so far they're great. They look almost resin-coated, but are much comfier than raw denim due to that little bit of stretch.

I recently bought a pair of WESC that are "raw stretch." I think the 2% synthetic makes them much mor lightweight and breathable for spring/summer.

Far as care for them, I honestly don't treat mine any differently than regualr denim.

They will stretch like regular cotton, but I think the stretch material brings them back to their shape when taken off back moreso than regular cotton denim. I believe they should certainly shrink back to the original size after a few minutes in thr dryer. I've worn mine probably about 10 times, and they have barely stretched out in size.

I doubt that synthetics would be more breathable than cotton..?

I wouldn't throw them in the dryer, as far as I know heat can break synthetic fibres meaning that they wont have the same stretch effect. dont know how this will work in a 2% mix but I wouldn't try it.

I believe that the 2% of elastane/lycra helps to wick away moisture, whereas cotton tends to retain moisture longer. If you ever run in a 98% cotton/2% lycra shirt vs. a 100% cotton shirt, you will note a great difference. Maybe breathble is the wrong term, but I think the wicking properties help create a more breathable environment

I don't think the 2% stretch would have any negative effects in the dryer, especially in the few minutes that I had mentioned. Anyway, I'm not talking about washing and throwing in the dryer for 45 minutes, I'm talking about a quick shot (+/- 5 minutes) of heat to help bring the shape back.
