"If you do want to explore true bespoke with no bullshit, pay a visit to Tru-Form on the UES of New York…Paul is legit, if a bit crabby."

I pass by their shop a trillion times, though I only stopped twice to look at the Aldens.., they quote me bespoke shell cordovan boot for about 3K, I suppose it's semi-inline with the rest, but given how cheap I am, I walked out.

"-The Internet-driven opinion that Blake-constructed shoes are of poor quality is flat out wrong.

-The UK-orchestrated opinion that welted shoes are superior is equally wrong.
"

Styleforum is English biased mostly...

I personally don't care machine or hand made as long as it's well made, interesting article by the way.

Toe box room does matter, but finding the right arch size is important as well.

Very informative interview.

SF does feel very commercial nowadays with brand threads.

By the way Ron, I do wish you would post a bit more.

I for one enjoy reading your posts, and gaining a bit of knowledge from your experience.

Also, I wanted to let you know of the good number of boots I own these have to be one of my favorite pair of boots.

You guys did a marvelous job with these.

Thank you much! They did turn out great.....glad you got a pair. I expect to be spending much more time on the road this Fall than the last few years, so I will probably have plenty of down time to kick around here again.....

Those are Rapid construction - full midsole, no welt.
Is that because the commando (?) sole is less likely to need replacing at some point?
