I really really like these, but am afraid of whether the "Air" is a gimmick or actually adds a lot to the comfort.

Ecco or Cole hann air, forget about any of the real dress shoes. For guys who suggested AE here, why do you guys think for walking 12 hours a day, at least 5 days a week, AE would be a good choice?

It depends on your definition of "dress shoes". Are there any requirements regarding your shoes?

The dressier a shoe is (= slimmer last and harder, thinner sole), the less comfortable it will be (assuming the shoe is well-made and fits you).

This thread might be interesting to you.

I'm trying to decide between those two right now lol.

My thinking is that Cole Hann Air >> Ecco in style
and Ecco >> Cole Hann Air in comfort

Would this be accurate

No requirements at all, as long as they can even remotely pass for dressy. The only requirements are that I personally need to find them decent looking enough to wear (which I can't say for most ecco shoes).

Although I've never really considered Wing Tip before

These are the ones I am currently thinking. Any thoughts?

Although I have no experience with them, Dr Martens shoes are considered to be very comfortable (additionally, they are Goodyear welted). However, while the uppers look traditional, the last and especially the sole isn't very dressy.

Not within budget, but these are comfortable at a low-ish price for non-corrected grain leather:  http://www.loake.co.uk/evolution.html
