Even Jesus had to die before he could save us.

A picture is worth a thousand existential crises.

I'm currently removing a con-trad interior that the unthinking previous owner shoved into a beautiful C18th house, vandalising much original fabric of the building in the process. Makes me mad - why do people (presumably) fall in love with old, charismatic buildings, and then proceed to "renovate" them and remove all trace of age and character in the process. If you like old buildings, keep them old, fill them with lovely old things; if you like new buildings, keep them modern, furnish them appropriately. But this bollocks is just so half-arsed.

Modern furnishings and interiors often look great in old shells. These late term abortions of modernity can't look good anywhere.

These are not modern furnishings. They are contemporary traditional. There is no modernist objective driving their design or selection. ConTrad is about adapting familiar, traditional elements to current fashion.
