Hi, all:

First post here on the forums. I have picked up a bunch of good tips here, so thank you all for the wisdom. I am a novice in dressing myself well, so I came to you all looking for advice with this question:

What are your opinions on shoes/boots that have bright colored contrast soles? What are the do's and don't's of wearing these? And how do you best pull them off?

A good example is this pair of Clarks desert boots ...

The "play it safe" guy in me wants to go with a more versatile pair of a straight brown beeswax leather, but this pop of orange is a real nice flair, too, I think. So, what are your opinions?

Just wear those like any other boots.

I figured you'd be talking about Jil Sander's contrast sole derbies.

Or maybe the Nike x Cole Haan LunarGrand

Thanks so far... do you think I should only wear these with neutral colors though? I mean, is it too eccentric, say, to have a brightly patterned shirt along with these brightly colored soles? That's the kind of general advice I was looking for. There have to be do's and dont's for these, are there not?
