Thank you, it's nice not to be considered old at my age smile.gif

I wonder what TImo thinks of this, though...

Sorry, everyone. The multiquote is crashing Safari on my iPad, and there's no wifi for my laptop here at the track. Can someone make a post with all of the entries? I'll create the poll after.

Glad to help. I quoted all the fits, there are some that you still need to validate, like Holdfast's second entry, YRR92 entry and some red gigham shirt that at a distace it's supposed to look like pink. biggrin.gif

An early entry (the shirt is actually a true pink even though the photo makes it appear slightly more towards lilac):

To be honest, I was rather less than inspired. I posted upthread that I've become bored with pale pink shirts and today was a very good example of why. The shirt felt like a forced element; theoretically, it should work with the white jeans and brown jacket, and tie choice shouldn't then be too difficult. But in reality, it was a pain in the backside finding a tie that I remotely liked: any one of the colour, contrast and pattern alternately felt too strong or too weak. This was very much a "least worst" choice. Perhaps it's just a function of the other clothes I own, but I've found that there are lots of colours that I don't like with pink (or perhaps more accurately, would prefer against either white or blue or a mix of those). I actually find hot pinks easier to use, in tie-less looks.

Still, if I go out tomorrow, I might give it another go with a pink shirt that has some white in it; that tends to make it easier to pair.

Some great fits so far gentlemen. My humble effort (Black C&J Drummond, CT pink end on end, Hober grenadine pin dot, medium grey Hemrajani suit). Picture quality is not so good sadly.

But I decided it was entirely too autumnal for such a sunny, hot summer day. So I went in a different direction:

Drakes cashmere
Unknown raw silk hand rolled
Trafalgar suede belt
Isaia aquachino*
Panthy wool blend
Bally suede

*Technically, following this picture, I changed the trou because I realized these don't fit me well, and I'll be parting with them soon. But what I did wear were Borrellis in the same color and material, so I feel like it counts.

May it Please the Court.

I'm not really feelin' it, but since I went to the trouble to wear the rig I'll post it anyway.  Facking flash making everything look shiny - it isn't really.

I'm in the light, less impact pink camp. A subtle plaid suit with a less subtle corresponding plaid hanky. Cheers.

Some seriously good entries; good job lads. o/o is my fave so far, but I'm impressed with the average standard this week. Actually, that raises another point I've been meaning to make: I think the average contestant standard is higher in this run of challenges than it was when it was in its first incarnation. There were always some excellent entries each week back then, but I do feel that as a field, the standard is a bit higher these days. Given the frequent laments about the quality of the board, I find that an interesting observation. Either that frequently-made comparison is inaccurate, or the current membership is simply a bit more willing to participate in these themed events (whereas the really good dressers back then didn't play), thus pushing up the apparent average. Maybe a bit of both columns, perhaps.

I prefer my fit today to the one I posted yesterday so can we count this one for the contest please, sb?

Truly, in spite of the white washed pic, the shirt is pink. This cherished baseball has Charlie "Paw-Paw" Maxwell's autograh. He is now 86 and was at yesterday's Tigers game. My rosebush did look good until two heavy rainfalls did their damage.
