Though I could share some pics of my last visit which took place last week.

A pair of Trinity loafers coming soon, more pics of those after that (if I just remember to post them).

Some additional photos from the visit on my blog as well.

I like that diamond punching you see on Grenson Masterpieces as well.

X-post from shoe porn thread: Some pics of a new pair of plain black cap toe oxfords, the Wildsmith Sloane. Very nice shoes, I'd say that the quality is more or less comparable to Alfred Sargent Exclusive, just a less pronounced bevelled waist and chestnut tanned soles instead of oak bark.

from what I've seen, Wildsmith shoes look pretty decent for the money. I'd certainly give them a try.

regarding the negative tone early on in the thread, I personally don't care who acquired what and for how much, so long as the end product is a quality item. it's called free market capitalism. if investors hadn't come along to resurrect the Wildsmith brand I have no doubt that the name 'Wildsmith' would've disappeared into obscurity.

Shoes look better than that, and others have attested to that fact.

Happy New Year Gents!

Opinion is always subjective and the world would be a boring place if we all thought the same..

For those of you who know me personally, or have worked with me previously, hopefully you will agree that I have a certain passion for good shoes, so when I became involved with Wildsmith I can honestly say that my first thoughts were about how I could design a collection of quality shoes, which materials to use, and the quality of manufacture. Second to this was the fact that I wanted to embrace the history of Wildsmith in a manner that was befitting of the heritage, which is why the vast majority are classic styles and not too fashion forward. Finally, I wanted John Wildsmith to be pleased with what we had created, that was important to me and still is.

I am pleased with the shoes and would happily have them dissected as I am entirely comfortable with the materials used in their making. That stated I always think that there is room for improvement and as such each pair is now hand polished prior to dispatch.

I know we have a long way still to go in order to become established, there are some great shoes coming out of Northamptonshire and having been in the industry all my working life it pleases me to see the resurgence in English shoemaking. Hopefully people will try Wildsmith in addition to their regular brands and then they can come to their own conclusions on what we are offering, most folk here know their shoes!

Anyway, enough from me. I wish that 2014 is a happy and healthy New Year for you all!

Chay.

My interactions with Chay has been excellent. I trust the shoes will not disappoint!

Now I am just waiting for the Regents to be in stock!

FYI I think they have a sale right now too smile.gif

Naturally these facts in no way determine the future success of the project

I actually can't understand this opinion at all, with all due respect. Sure, I only own one pair yet, but as opposed to you I have actually been wearing the shoes for a while, and I'd say they are everything but overpriced. The quality is excellent for the price, both when it comes to the materials and construction. I'd definitely say that these are more or less comparable to for example Carmina or Crockett & Jones benchgrade.
