ive been lately getting really interested in crocodile shoes, especially croc boots (not western or cowboy boots, and not the kind with the horns and stuff all over it).
croc boots like a chelsea or jodpur or something with premium underbelly crocodile leather.
anybody have any photos of anything like that and who makes these? thanks.

I don`t own any, but maybe one of these days I`ll try...maybe in a combo style.

Years ago I had a really beautiful pair of Ralph Lauren Crocodile shoes, similar to those shown in the Apparel Arts picture. They looked really nice with both navy and grey suits. Wish I still had them!

I've never been able to answer the question 'why men wear shoes made from "exotic" material?'

don't wear them ...

Why not? It may not be to your taste but it a leather choice is a valid factor, it is the only real way to get a radical change of texture.

+1. Exotic shoes are way too out there for me.

I wouldn't mind a pair of shagreen shoes.

At least a pair of shoes with shagreen details.

It's all a matter of taste, I own a pair of black crocodile cap toes, and dark brown bluchers in alligator. I have numerous pairs of beautiful calf shoes but it never fails when I wear the exotics I tend to get the most complements, go figure.

RM Williams have them at AUD2,900 in the Sydney showroom. Very smooth with big croc 'squares' - from the Argentine crocs because our crocs are too ornery and have damaged skins from fighting each other.

I like these ones I got for AUD51..

Now where would an SLer wear these and with what clobber? What era are they do you think?

How about a pale/light blue suit, unbuttoned white shirt and a bright pocket square? In summer, that is.
