Mike: cooked food and animal products are habit. Don't forget that cooked food has 47 cancer causing chemicals. (l won't even mention [at this stage the dangers of cooked food]). l fully believe that your grandfather ate anything he wanted and lived to really old; (l have been waiting for this arguement to arise). Don't think that you will be like your grandfather [just because he lived a long time]. PLEASE BE AWARE Grand parents and older people have stronger constitutions and much bigger earlobes. l can guarantee you that 98% of people with big earlobes can abuse their health and get away with it. (Eg; people with big ears [always old people] will have wider arteries, stronger hearts, better livers etc and will live alot longer [than normal people]. Remember also: there were alot less chemicals in the food and water supply back then. Genetic strengths are rapidly becoming irrelevant, don't rely on this sir; it will lead you astray. Do you ever notice how a persons earlobes are getting smaller with each generation. Young people today have virtually no earlobe. People's constitutions are much much weaker: that's why diabetes and heart attacks now occur in our 20's or even younger. That's why 30% of modern men are sterile. l can tell a sterile man just by looking at them. l will be posting a full report on body constitution as soon as l can compile some references. (l am busy and have thousands of filed studies, so give me time to look these up and compile reports. Thankyou Dr B8man).

I don't want to start a flame war here or anything, but yeah eating cooked foods is a "habit.' Its a "habit" that's been going on since cavemen hunted mastadons and other large animals and cooked them for their tribes. It was passed down to the Native Americans, who, like the Lacota Souix, hunted buffalo, antilope(sp?), and other wild game. They would eat the meat, and use the rest of the animal for their everyday needs. While i'm sure that there are some native tribes all over the world that have diets consisting of only sprouts and raw vegetables, most have some sort of meat in their diet. These people are the true people of the earth, subsiding in balance with and respecting nature. Now, I'm going to follow Navy Styles's advice and just smile and nod as I back out of the room.

Here is my idea of good food: Last night, we had friends over for dinner. I cooked. Here's what was on the menu: Fresh buffalo mozzarella with beefsteak tomatoes, olive oil and balsamic, fresh groud pepper; Slow-cooked and smoked barbeque pork ribs and beef brisket; Baked sweet potatoes with brown sugar, butter, sour cream and maple syrup; Green salad with home made blue cheese dressing; Rosewater and honey limeade; Home made strawberry ice cream. I may have taken a week off my life by eating such stuff, but it was worth it. For reference: My grandfather died at age 91. He was healthy all his life. Pretty much every day of his adult life he ate the following for breakfast: Five or six pieces of bacon; 4 eggs fried in bacon grease; potatoes with melted cheese fried in bacon grease; two slices of white bread, soaked in bacon grease and covered in white sugar; orange juice; milk I don't know if he would have lived longer if he'd eaten differently, but he did ok considering all the "no no" foods he consumed regularly. Meats, dairy, cereals, and the occasional vegetable. My diet consists promarily of burritos (Thank you Anna's Taqueria and Boca Grande), pizza, beer, coffee (Thank you Starbucks and Hi-Rise) and Brownies (thank you half price hours at Au Ban Pain.) I always ask for lettuce and tomatoes on the burritoes along with sour cream, and always used half and half. Occasionally, I go out for a nice meal. I balance this off by plenty of exercise and not owning a car. Seriously, diets are crap. Americans are unhealthy and fat because they sit around all day doing nothing.

Hey Kai, you missed the chopped basil with your mozzarella di bufala . OOOooooh.......all this talk about burritos........ I can't them decent ones here in the Netherland...... DROOOOLLLL, with carne asada....... guacamole.... OOOOHHHH...... Especially the one from the Bear's Lair (CAL campus).....

I forgot to post it, but didn't forget to include it. My wife has a large-ish herb garden, so we never want for fresh basil.

Good lord that sounds good Kai. ...it just goes to show you, health nuts are called "nuts" for a reason. Where the hell did UFO's and miraculous healing  water come from? Talk about random. But I'm glad whomever said that felt like sharing, at least it put a smile on my face. I ate a lunchable and some pepperoni beef sticks for dinner. I figure if preservatives keep food fresh, it will keep me fresh too. That and I'm too poor to buy health food. Its expensive. Die young and leave a good lookin' corpse. Thats my motto. I can't think of anything I'd want to do at 90 years old anyways. (and for the record, I have pretty large earlobes)

Health food is not expensive if you buy the seeds in bulk ie; big sacks from the farms. eg; 10 kg alfalfa seed, 200 kg of wheat seed. 50kg of mung been seeds, etc. Your total yearly food bill would be around $600 to feed a family of four.

...yeah if you didn't die of boredom first. Not trying to knock your lifestyle or anything, but I'd probably have to shoot myself if I found myself eating 400lbs of beans. Plus - I have big earlobes remember. I can get away with eating crappy, processed, artificial, salty, fatty, cooked food. I prefer mine on a stick.

Especially if living forever entails a diet composed almost exclusively of sprouts and uncooked vegetables.
