Not your standard style, Orge, but I really like that one. Is that your RLPL suit? Along with......? Drakes? I have no idea. Love the blue in it, though.

The ultimate silencer/ stabilizer of the bold tie: A solid three-piece suit and white PS.

Pink shirt kick lately...

Not what I was planning on wearing, but this tie jumped out at me. Robert Talbott patchwork repp -- a tie made out of ties. Here's why you iron your pants, kids.

I wanted to wear this suit for the summer suit challenge but I was out of town:

Close up on boldness:

Probably won't hold up as bold, but what the heck.

That's a lovely tie, jcm.

JCM - beautiful tie, maybe not bold enough.

In Stitches - similar, although like the Mandelbrot set, it seems to get more complex as you get closer. Very tasteful overall.

Holdfast - just a really nice fit, but so noticeably nice that the boldness of the tie is perhaps underemphasized.

Orge and R.Diaz - this is the opposite - you are have chosen self-effacing combinations that draw the eye to the tie. Both work very well.

Sugarbutch - I almost feel like it's cheating wearing Duchamp! But that is a great look in which the tie works as part of the ensemble as well as being bold in itself. You should cut loose more often! This is probably my top choice so far.

Spoo - likewise on the combination. Your reasoning is sound and that tie does a great job in context. Personally however, it reminds me of a tie I posted here a year or so ago which everyone told me to burn. I think if I had worn it in the combination you have chosen here, it might just have worked.

AAS - relatively restrained for you! And the tie is both bold and works in context.

There are a few which aren't bold and some which are but are less successful:

TWD - I like the tie, whcih works well with the seersucker, just not so sure about the hard 3 or the PS.

Caustic Man - the turpoise + pink might work with a very dandified white suit, but with the dark blue blazer, I don't think it does. Plus, are you trying to cover your crotch with the tie?

snoogz, rms - just horrible ties, sorry. Bad taste rather than bold.

YRR92 - there is no excuse for that abomination! ;)

That's entirely possible. I chose this theme because I wanted to see if anyone could do it well, not because I had any confidence I could do it well. smile.gif

Thanks! Suit is nothing special, just the house brand from a long-gone local store. Tie is Polo.

+1000 points for Mandelbrot set mention.  icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Lovely as ever, Butler, but that's hardly a bold tie on its own or in context.
