When you buy a made-in-China iPhone for about the same price as this lamp, you get a technologically complex device made of glass and steel that is immaculately finished. So, yeah, I'd like to think Flos could deliver something approaching the same quality that is infinitely simpler to produce and made out of cheaper material and made in Europe. Evidently, they cannot.
I'm sure that has to do with the fact they aren't as sophisticated when it comes to manufacturing. They are making in much smaller batches, in larger varieties of design, and probably have a relatively disorganized approach to quality control. So, I'm not happy, but not entirely surprised.
We will probably return this one and call it quits on Flos. It depends on the attitude of the salesperson. If he is sympathetic and wants to make right, we will exchange. If he makes it sound like we are picky and just wants to "make us happy," we will just do a return for refund.
Seriously, Flos should stopping making their crap in Italy. Chinese manufacture appears to be far superior these days.
