Apartment foo-nishing - Page 101

I have a giant leather bound atlas book. I put in on the floor.

So, previously, I did not mean to suggest that every bit of wall space needs to be consumed by art or things posing as art. There are plenty of blank walls in my house that I have not found the mental strength to put a hole in after having skim coated and painted them.

A good skim coating is beautiful. Savor it.

I think it's a given that most people do not read coffee table books. People leaf through them and look at the pictures. What text there is is usually barely above caption level in content. Or are we talking about monographs?

How can you see it way down there through the pipe smoke?

Fuck coffee table books, put Hemingway on your table and sit with people to read. Discuss the brilliance. Never understood the point of a book specifically purposed toward setting on a table. However if you buy a good book and prefer to keep it near where you sit to read, then I understand.

I keep old scratch and sniff Hustlers on my coffee table.

I like it.

An ashtray, a pipe, tobacco and the economist currently. I want to look like an intellectual.

On topic, I kinda like the living room as a whole. Never thought I would say that about foo's. I wouldn't bother about the chipping, with all the hassle you've had with tables, they are a story on their own..

But in that case don't you have to call it a salon as opposed a living room?

I have a monograph by Merry Alpern called "Dirty Windows". But I keep it inside the coffee table, not on top.

Cigar smoke.
Speaking of which, this may go with the plant balls and bring some color.
