But, is it honest living?
I really like the couch and the table.

Well, you bought the terrarium balls instead of assembling them with driftwood and lichen that you gathered yourself, your table is structurally unsound, and you have designed it to enforce your strict policy of rigid posture, so it might be honest about not living.

I think the rug and fur on the couch are unnecessary. It might look nicer without them. I don't like that there are things on the fan. The fan is too narrow to accommodate items in my opinion. Artwork might be better suited for the wall behind the couch than those pots, but the pots seem to work. You could experiment to see if it looks nicer.

That indeed does look better, but I still think they're kitschy. It's very Urban Outfitters/ Anthropologie/ Design Sponge/ cute college girl apartment. That space would look much better with a nice painting. Or even just a bunch of framed family photos.

I'm having a hard time with it, Foo, I think mostly because there are so many shades of white/cream adjacent to each other. It would be much better with a... different rug. Or no rug. I like rugs, though.

My wife largely concurs, but her first reaction was, "Overall, it's lovely." So there's that. smile.gif

They are fucking awesome.

Also, they are not terrariums. There is no soil. They are aeriums.

The different shades of white and cream are purposeful, for what it's worth.

Wouldn't know the difference. I stopped subscribing to the Sharper Image catalog in 6th grade.

If you and your missus are happy with it, that's all that need be said.

The comments in this thread correlate strongly with the demise of MC.

It's OK. I like it, but would tweak it a bit.

I would rehang the terrariums in 2 vertical rows over the couch (closer to the window) and use the remaining wall space (over the half of the couch that is further away from the window) to hang a suitably sized painting/picture/photo.

Please keep those design CT books away. It's a real turn off to see them out where they will probably lie untouched by you/your wife and will likely never be touched by the guests that you have over maybe once or twice a month. Your area is set up for TV watching (I assume there is a TV on the wall across from the couch), not conversation so I find it difficult to imagine your guests sitting all the way in by the window, and then reaching down and picking up a CT book to browse. A better place to put them would be on your side table IMO.

It would have been awesome if your sofa was this colour, but of course that ship has sailed.

Just my 0.02.

I am tempted to make a joak about foo's fetish for white things/persons, but ... oh wait, oops. smile.gif

What colour are your floors?

The aerium balls (not terrariums) are in different sizes, so I don't think lining them up is an option.

The floors are a medium brown with a very slight olive cast.

Needs a smack of colour. Like a Rothko.
