Dark brown dress shoes with slim fitting navy blue pants for casual wear?

So I recently got these dark brown dress shoes as a gift and am wondering what they would go well with. I looked online for pictures, but couldn't really find any good pictures of dark brown shoes with navy blue pants and a dress shirt. I did find lighter brown shoes with navy blue pants and to me, that combination looked okay for casual wear.

It would be awesome if someone could show me a picture of dark brown shoes with navy pants and if anyone can give me there opinions on this combination. I also have an event soon and this, along with possibly a lavender dress shirt, would be my outfit(maybe even a black skinny tie?).

Dark brown shoes go with everything except formal evening wear. Jeans, khakis, blue suits, grey suits, and brown suits would all be fine with brown shoes.

Is that a list of what brown shoes do go with well or don't go with to you?

Also, I'm from the San Francisco Bay Area, this is mostly for events that demand a little more than just jeans and a tshirt, and I'm still young; barely 18 years old.
