Is the chest sizing on ShopTheFinest accurate? I was looking at some Finamore and Barba shirts on both their website and eBay, and shirts with a 14.5" neck were measured with a 41" chest.

Ok, after reading through this entire thread it seems as though the best slim fits are:

United Colors of Benetton slim fit
Theory
Hugo Boss slim fit
Selected tight fit (cheaper quality but also priced cheaper)

Or....just have them taken in at a tailor.

Hugo Boss slimfit are very good, but pricey at about $125 to $150 retail. Theory shirts do fit well (not as well as Hugo Boss), but am not sure about quality and durability since most of theirs are made in China.

Any opinions on Zegna shirts? I looked at the measurements posted online, and they seem pretty slim fitting w/ about a 6 inch drop.

They do fit well - I have one - but they are made in China. I am not sure about their durability.

Brooks uses standard yellow plastic buttons for everything but Golden Fleece, Black Fleece and a few of the Country Club casual shirts. I think the custom shirts even come with plastic buttons now.

I need slim LONG fitted shirts but the ones here on the east coast are just slim and have the case of being named "ASS SHIRTS" You sit down and they ride up exposing your arse to the world.

Shirts are no longer being made properly as they used to in the 1980's

This did this to save money.
False tails or dress shirts that do not go below my bottocks = a lost sale.

I just received a size 14.5 Black Label shirt from the Woodbury outlet, and the fit is even slimmer than H&M's size S slim fit. Zara's size S shirts still fit better, but the fabric and construction on this shirt is light years ahead.

I live in Atlanta. How do I get access to Woodbury outlets?

Out of curiosity, what would all of you consider to be a slim fit? What do you measure around the chest?

At Proper Cloth, we've done some serious research on this topic - see here: http://blog.propercloth.com/2008/10/...t-dress-shirt/ I haven't covered every shirt for sale, but got quite a few... The slimmest fitting shirts are from Esprit, Kenneth Cole, DKNY and Banana Republic. You'll see that the Brooks Brothers Slim Fit Shirt is really not that slim at all.

Yea, your metrics are wack. The fact that you have the BS mod fit as slimmer than the soho fit is just plain wrong. Anyone who owns them can tell you this is false.
