The NCAA is just trying to do the right thing. The association of alcohol with college sports is just ludicrous, indulged by only a deviant few. I know the NCAA, if it could, would ban the consumption of alcohol before games (which would also increase attendance). But it can't, so it's at least making the powerful gesture of trying to rename this game.

Like the "Red River Shootout".

That one totally makes sense- anything that might be advocating violence in football is just wrong.

2 big tilts this weekend - Stanford/Oregon and Miami/FSU. This is why CFB is the best.

We shall see but i doubt it. The funny thing about this series - when you think the game heavily favors one side, it never amounts to a blowout (provided the teams are both good). Throw the spread and everything else out the window when these 2 teams are top 10 types of teams.

So another poster who hasn't seen fsu play this season is running his mouth. Great

Lol

Relax, friend; you must be an fsu fan.

Before you have your jimmies in max overload, yes, I've watched most of their games.

Fsu is playing like a buzz saw but I give miami a puncher's chance.

How did you anticipate them performing against wake forest?

I didn't expect a nail biter but I told my buddies who bet to take wake and the points.

Classic sandwich game - unc road game followed by NCAA stuff and followed by fsu. Miami's MO has been playing down/up to their opponents.

They ran the ball well against arguably the best defense in CFB (when easely was healthy).

Head says 45-21, fsu, heart says 34-31, canes. How about you?

Let's see, FSU goes to Clemson and we know how that turned out.

Miami is heading to Tallatrashee, is nowhere near as good as Clemson was, the defense has some serious deficiencies (just ftr, FSU is #2 in overall defense and then there's Jameis)... yeah, your analysis makes sense.

So, by your transitive "logic", fsu should win 65-3, right? Using your logic, BC ran for over 200 yards on you and miami has a better running game so they should run for 250-300, right? See how I can play this silly game? Lol

Trallatrashee ia a good nickname, I like it.

lol, ok. Hey, I was just pointing out your flawed thinking so don't get all rustled at me.

Good luck in the game, sir. What is your prediction?

I honestly think there's a fair argument either way (e.g. FSU blowout or closer than expected). Yeah, the numbers support the possibility that FSU could absolutely crush Miami, but we're talking about college football, which is so entertaining partially because things like rivalry games can defy stats-based expectations. Plus, FSU isn't exactly immune to choking.

So, yeah, there's not a chance in hell I'd take Miami straight-up, but the line right now is FSU -21.5. I'm not a gambling man, but, if I were, Miami and the points would be very, very tempting.

No. You missed the point. There is no evidence at all to suggest that Miami could keep it close. Literally literally, not "literally" none. The only evidence there is suggests FSU will win handily. Sorry if that's difficult for you to comprehend.
