That suit is fantastic! I am thinking about sleeve cuffs on one of my next suits. I usually wait until it's in the 80's before I break out the white suits but you are giving me some ideas...

Not cuffs - gauntlets!bigstar[1].gif

Some really fab entries. I voted for Mr Claymore, Orgetorix, Kaplan, JP Hardy, southernstyle & TTO. I think my favourite is either Kaplan or southernstyle, because in some ways, they represent the opposite extremes of dressing for summer.

Butler & katabatic would have been definite contenders if they'd been in the poll.

Orgetorix takes it for me. Class act.

Well, crap. All work and no play makes Dig miss a Friday Challenge in which he could have actually participated for once! baldy[1].gif

Oh well. I'm slapping the photo here for posterity, anyhow.

If I had to guess I'd say it references one of the famous Gallic kings known, primarily, for being conquered by Caesar.

If you'd ever read the Asterix comics as a kid, you'd have guessed the period/region in history that the name comes from. But as Caustic Man says, Orgetorix was a Helvetian noble who inadvertantly sparked off the Gallic wars and gave Caesar a reason to invade Gaul. I strongly recommend the comics, by the way, even for an adult. The jokes are great, and the English translation does more than simply translate; it's a great adaptation, though perhaps moreso for British than American readers. I don't recall Orgetorix being featured, but another king, Vercingetorix, does cameo, when he throws down his arms at Caesar's feet. Unlike the more stately interpretation of this act depicted in the famous painting of the same name, in the comics Vercingetorix literally throws them at Caesar's feet... biggrin.gif

Anyway, congratulations Orgetorix! icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif
