Green Shoes with suit, appropriate?

Currently, I am eyeing for a pair of green shoes, John Lobb Dark Green Becketts, to be specific. I wonder if they are appropriate to wear with suit?

I am able to get them for $650 brand new and they are very nice. However, I don't want to buy themthem but can't wear them later due to the color.

Brown, grey, navy. Almost everything! I have a pair of Bontonis in a much lighter green and they are my favorite shoes.

If you can get brand new Lobbs for that price you need to get them!

The question is, appropriate for what?

The shoes above would get me laughed out of my office. they are not even remotely conservative business dress. Even dark green shoes will get weird looks.

I see absolutely zero versatility from green shoes.

See in my work place I can and continue to wear shoes like this with some color and something a bit unique. I dont have any conservative shoes but I think if your going to have any sort of green shoes then you arent looking for conservative shoes.

I also know my shoes arent for everyone but I love the hell out of them and thats what matters to me.

It obviously depends on your place of work, but also on you - whether you can pull if off but be all self-conscious about it. If you're perceived as a 'sharp dresser', it'd be fine but if you're normally a conservative dresser, then probably not. I'd say that if you have to ask, then probably no.

PS where can you get them at that price? smile.gif

I have one. It is very dark green, could be a black indoor.

Given that I'm about to pull the trigger on the same shoes, I say yes. It just depends on your office and you. I've worked in some pretty conservative places and this color green would have been fine on me, but probably odd on my more conservative bosses. They totally wouldn't have cared that I wore them. Well they would have given me shit for it but in a good way.

It also depends on the suit; navy or charcoal worsted = probably not, khaki cotton suit = probably better.

Here is it. A clown?

That's from the Lobb RTW made for Barney's pimp line, isn't it?
