As long as you know who Spoopoker is, you'll fit right in.

I wouldn't call this organized.
More accurately someone spoke up and just threw a date and time out.

Then the rest of us realized this is real life and decided to weigh in wink.gif

I'm a bastard child stuck between both SW&D and CW. I live in Whiterock so I might be a bit late- I'll try to make it out! Sounds like fun.

I feel you on that broski.

But I think the Streetwear side is winning so far.
It's Vancouver, way too casual...

That's why my wife and I are hosting a Black Tie Christmas party this year, and hopefully every year from now on.

Stay classy Vancouver. Not sure about you, but none of my friends own a full tux set, so I'll be interested to know how you'll get your friends to wear one.

The last black tie event was at a wedding reception, "Black Tie Optional." I think I was one of ten people who wasn't in the party who wore a bowtie...out of 250 guests.

There will be about 6 or so in black tie, probably.  And it's black tie optional - but it will at least get people into suits.  And maybe, if people know they have somewhere to wear it every year, a few will pick one up.  You can get a cheapo at Action Liquidators for $100 or so, and vintage are easier to find than I'd ever have thought.

Sadly I'm out of town that week, or else I'd love to join in. +1 black tie Christmas parties! I wear my dinner jacket to the opera and the symphony just to use it, but there are usually only one or two other people wearing one. Heck, there are usually only four or five people in suits. Vancouver...

Why not schedule a Black Tie meetup in the future then? Nothing strange about a group of men loitering in tuxes on a weekday, right? Better yet, bring a football and recreate the wedding scene from "The Room":

Seriously: Worst. Movie. Ever. Totally worth checking out.

I've been working on putting just such a thing together. I think we are close to enough gents to schedule a first one. Shoot me a PM! (Same goes for anyone else interested!)
