Vancouver SF meetup -- proposed

Not to piggyback on Toronto's meetup (I've actually had this on my mind for some time), but I'd like to see how many folks in Greater Vancouver might be interested in a casual meetup, maybe this summer. There are two of us so far who have recently met up informally, but I know there are a LOT of Vancouverites who read these fora, so let's hear from you!
Please PM me, and I'll put together a list and jot down a few ideas. Meeting downtown makes the most sense, but I'm open to ideas and after all, I was hoping to keep this fun and casual (not casually-dressed necessarily - that part is up to you) so let's talk and get something planned!

I would be interested in joining in as well.

I've actually been thinking of organizing one myself for awhile but thought the fall might be better as people might be on vacation in the summer.

However, nothing to stop us having another one in the fall.

So, count me in.

I'm going to come, but I'm going to wear an over sized t-shirt, holey jeans, and beat up red Chuck's with no socks, and a scarf.

Well, I'm going to just jump in and suggest a date and time. I'm thinking of a weekday evening, so as not to disrupt anyone's weekend plans? Plus I work weekends so it's better for me. How about Monday, October 28th, at around 8 pm. I'm assuming downtown is the most central to everyone, so how about Six Acres Cafe on Carall Street?

I'm down for whatever.

I could make this. However, you may find that people may want to meet earlier if they work downtown and live elsewhere (I'm in North Vancouver, for example).

I've been in contact with a few SF members from Vancouver in my time here, so I can see if they would be available (in case they don't see this thread).

I sent a mass-pm to all the other Vancouver-based SF people I've noticed on here or have corresponded with in the past.

Hopefully we'll get some more responses on the thread and get some more attendance at the event.
