Is Green with Brown tacky?

I have these fitted brown pants, and this sorth of earthy-green denim-looking buton up shirt...at first I thought the combination looked seamless, but I couldn't help but think of shaggy from scooby doo, or worse, a tree. What do you think personally? Could it work? Here's a picture

I like the colors, though probably not in the summer.

The colours work fine for autumn-fall-winter. Welcome to Styleforum KingCuddles.

Beyond "OK," I think it is an excellent combination. Besides, they were my old school colors.

A lot depends upon what shades of brown and green. Your pic looks OK for fall, as others have mentioned. Brown and green don't happen to be "my colors" so I tend to stay away.

Green & brown can indeed look great together, and they're two of my favorite colors.

This is what I wore yesterday - it's hard to tell in this photo, but the jacket is a dark brown bas, with a lot of tan and green woven in as well. Seasonally, it may be June, but in my neighborhood in San Francisco that means gray skies and thick fog, so it might as well be autumn.

Fix your tie and your pocket square.

If wearing green and brown is a crime, then I'd say "I'll see you in jail," but I'd probably end up in solitary since I'm a pretty serious repeat offender.

I gotta say, I think those pants are brutal.

Yeah, it was the end of the day. Shit happens.  :).  I'm gonna blame the cat...

Both colors are high saturation, which might be what looks off (or tree-like) to you. You're definitely not committing any faux pas.

Agreed. They're just this side of tights.

Then again, brown tights and green tunic is a classic combination. I think I saw it in Robin Hood. Or maybe on a woodsman in some Disney feature.
