Best Dress Shoe Selection in West Palm Beach?

Hi,

It's been a couple of months since I dropped by. I hope you are all doing OK. I expect to make a short trip to West Palm Beach Florida soon if plans go as I think, and I'd like to find the store there that offers the most exciting lineup of nice brands of classy men's leather lace-up dress shoes. Good selection, good ethics. The fairly upscale stuff. Either a shoe store or a more generalized store with good shoes. So what do you suggest? Thanks!

Go down Worth Avenue and you'll have lots of selection. Ralph Lauren should carry rebranded Edward Green; Domenico Vacca has great shoes, albeit with a bit of Italian flair; I think there is a Saks and/or Neiman Marcus at the beginning of the avenue; there's a Ferragamo if you want to go slightly cheaper. I could be wrong but I think there is a Brioni store there as well that carries shoes.

Well, I can't really vouch for their ethics but Maus & Hoffman carry EG, Alden and several Italian makers.

There isn’t a Brioni store, but you got everything else right. There is also a dedicated shoe store on the north end of the avenue. Palm Beach is going to be expensive. M & H is at the end-side of Worth, past Ralph Lauren, they also have a nice selection. You can always check out The Gardens mall in PGA. Jon.

please go to dan fiore's shop in palm beach. some of the second hand and consigned clothes are gorgeous, the shoes are not quite as good, but if you are in a regular size i think you'll come away with something you wouldn't have found elsewhere.
check out my previous post entitled palm beach.

Thanks to the four of you for your great replies! I've been wanting a pair of nice lace-up leather dress shoes, preferably imported, for over a year now, and there's no substitute for seeing them in person. Locally my options are extremely limited. I think I'll be like a kid in a candy store!

If you're going to be close to Boca Raton, there is a Maus & Hoffman near Federal and Palmetto Pk. Also, there is the Town Center Mall, which has a Niemans, Saks, Bloomies, and Nords. Not bad pickin out of the four.

Eh, Boca is OK (and I live here

), but if you really high-end Palm Beach or Bal Harbour is the way to go.

I'll continue to check back for a few days if anybody else has any suggestions. Probably I'll have to stick to West Palm Beach, I'll be with my girlfriend and on a tight schedule. I wonder if anybody sells Borgioli shoes there?

After a day in Palm Beach, I seriously doubt you'll have any need to go anyplace else for retail shopping. The only negative about West Palm is the often stratospheric prices and lack of discount stores.

BTW, while you're down there, there is a thrift shop called "Church Mouse." The prices are pretty good, and there's a chance there will be some good pieces there. It's pretty close to Worth Avenue, IIRC.

Thanks for the advice on the thrift store. Is that clothing or general merchandise? I think my girlfriend might like it if they carry glassware, etc.

They've got everything. They had an awesome side table when I was there but my wife didn't want to deal with the hassle of shipping it. I think my wife bought an estate necklace too. It's a pretty cool store.

Great to know! Thanks HalfCanvas. I guess if anything is "thrifty" in a place like West Palm Beach, that's news, LOL!

I bought a couple loafers several years ago at Giorgio's Palm Beach. Not very high quality construction-wise, but they've held up great.
