If I didn't already break the bank..

Maybe wait until the next MTO. And if you buy in to my idea of the suede single strap MTO, I'll buy in to your navy loafer!! :-D

As long as its not simpson I would highly consider it. I have a pair of oxfords in dark suede from the armoury in the simpson last and I dont really like it. My Epaulet boots on the forest last are way better in terms of fit.

But the Uetam works for you? Isn't that what the loafer is on?

I talked to Steve and he said that I should be ok with the Uetem last in size 9UK which was the same size of my simpsons
Yep definitely recommend same for simpson and uetem. since string loafers are loafer/suede combo, they will stretch out better and more give then shoes with strings.

What about shell? My experience with shell is limited. Does it stretch as much as suede or as much as calf?

True, good point. The suede part makes it versatile. They're the most comfortable shoes I own. Can't WAIT to get these. PUT THE ORDER IN.

But what about the navy loafer.. you want people to get on that.. and it's not suede.

Shell wont stretch out as much as suede

But remember these are loafers and you definitely want them to fit snug to avoid heel slipage. Plus if you dont have a extra wide feet you will be fine with these! Definitely stick with same size as far as simpson and uetem goes!
cheers.gif

btw I have a semi wide foot and im on this shell navy mto myself on my normal size 5.5 haha. they will beautiful after few years of aging

Love the emotion! I think I'm pretty close, I just need three or four days to agonize over which size to get in that last. /.5s Young, do you have any Ueteam (or Simpson I suppose) lying around for try-on purposes? Or does anyone have outsole measurements for larger Ueteams? I have a slightly narrow foot, high arches, and the C&J 337 fits me pretty well in a 12D. Because of the Ueteam's low vamp, and the fact that this is a loafer (i.e. no lacing), I am leaning towards an 11.5... All else equal I prefer my shoes to be tight as opposed to loose, and I'd love these to get a nice mold to my foot. I'll probably have (at most) loafer liners on most of the time when I wear them, too... At any rate, I'm off to go poke around the Carmina sizing thread.

JK, Young, mrjester -- any thoughts? Any input is much appreciated!

Also, did this become a full strap at some point (fingers crossed)? Is it based on the 80191?

DLM you gotta hop on board bro!!!

I believe it was a full strap the entire time, I dont think it changed.

I was also worried but Young is saying that since there is no lacings its better to be a bit tighter to avoid heel slippage. I have 9UK in simpson and it fits pretty ok, just narrow in the toe box for my liking. I bet after a few wears it would be perfect.

I have no loafers and this would be my first loafer ever! Dont let me go loafer-less!!!!
