Was wondering if plum museum calf Chelsea GMTO was completed?

I'd be in for the burgundy U-wing boot makeup if it goes through here. As I mentioned in the general Carmina thread I wouldn't mind switching it to the Inca last from Rain if that's possible, but I'd still be in on Rain.
Thank you for your interest BaldwinP!
Currently Carmina offers the u wing style boots in Rain last only :)

I made a quick edit of what the 80387/Rain boot might look like in burgundy museum. The scale of the mottling may be a bit off, but, after seeing this I think it's a winner. I credit @patliean1 for suggesting this makeup.
Anyone else interested in this MTO? (Rain Last)

So far I have @patliean1 @ScottMC @RogerP @badsha @BaldwinP @MGD83 @sacafotos @rgweiser53 - 8 interested!
(Do let me know if you are not interested and I will update the list)

So far, 2 votes for leather sole!
Do send me a PM if you would like to join or have any questions!
Cheers!

My first vote is Dainite but I'm down for leather too. Chances are delivery will be in the middle of winter. Do we have prices yet?

I think a boot this classy should be on leather. My vote is most definitely for leather soles.

I vote dainite - the whole idea of boots is all weather wear in preference to shoes. And from any view other than sole-up, dainite doesn't look any less dressy than leather. The Skoak makeup that this is based on has a synthetic outsole - sure doesn't make that boot look any less classy, IMO.

Agreed completely. When applied correctly you never even know there is a Dainite sole but it gives you the versatility to wear it far more often

I'll chime in from the peanut gallery even though I am probably not going in on this boot (I would love to but I just cannot justify more boots with another 4 on preorder right now):

Whether you prefer leather or Dainite or something else, the "dressiness" of leather is really only a factor with the most formal styles. This boot, while a balmoral, really isn't what I think most would truly consider a dress boot. It is beautiful and it POPS. Can you dress it up? Sure. But this sort of boot isn't really going to be "less dressy" because it has a rubber sole. Leather or rubber is pretty much neutral with a model like this.

That said, preferences are preferences. I side with the Dainite crew for comfort and durability alone. My cognac 973 boots on Dainite were so comfortable out of the box it is ridiculous.

I'm also interested in the burgundy museum U boot. I'd prefer Dainite.

How would you gents feel about the slim rubber/leather hybrid sole?
Tomir sole like pictured below?

Does the boot have to be museum calf? What about antique burgundy calf? I've never been crazy about the museum calf fad

Fall/Winter is coming...

Is it a good time to call for a rerun of Jodphur Boot? Navy calf, or even with a black alligator strap!

(It is navy shell in the photo but Carmina will not do a jodphur in shell cordovan again)

So you are saying instead of "No, MTOs are accepted..." this should read "No MTOs are accepted..." What a difference a tiny fraction of an inch can make...
Not a fraction of an inch. A comma. What a difference proper punctuation makes.

There is a famous book about the importance of punctuation literacy that is entitled "Eats, shoots, and leaves." It comes from a joke, I can't remember, about a cow. The punch line that a description of his diet -- eats shoots and leaves -- has a very different meaning with the introduction of errantly placed commas: eats, shoots, and leaves.

I am in for wholecut in burgundy museum calf with single leather sole. Would prefer forest last, wide fitting, but would accept rain-lasted shoe.

Close, it's a black and white animal, but it's a panda...hence the bamboo shoots and leaves.
