Wow, really?  As much as that?  So peeps who took a UK 9 on the old 82 are now taking a UK 8? :butbut:  I was thinking I may need to go down a half, but yikes.

Can someone remind me when this switch went into effect?

hope we can confirm that but how I understood. I'm 8.5EUK/9US in 82 and was suggested to go 8E UK/8.5 US.

Gotta say, the soller last is a freaking awesome last for shoes. I've seen most people use it for boots, but man, this kicks some tail for oxfords/derbys. Thanks again Steve!

I thought it was width that was affected on the new 82 resin? Maybe I'm wrong

Oh okay - half size down from your old 82 size, full size down from your US size - that's a lot less extreme - my misunderstanding.

Truth is I don't know - the only firm notion I have is that the new one is  "bigger" but how much and where and if there is consensus on how it impacts sizing - that I'm hoping to hear something first hand.

Kind of a bummer because the old 82 fit me damned near perfect in a UK9.

  Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Nice golf!  Did you Rain size or -0.5?  I agree the Soller last makes a great split toe!  It may be a good last for me as I believe its elongated more so than Rain.  I find rain too short in 7.5 but too big in volume in 8.

I went -.5 from my rain fitting and it's perfect.  If 7.5 in rain is to short for you, try a 7.5 in soller because the soller last is a half size longer than rain.

I'm on the border of 7UK for Rain last oxfords, could probably fit a 7EEE (new width) perfectly, but a 7.5 UK is definitely a touch long. I'd have to use an insole, but it'll work.

That said, my 7UK Soller suede Chelseas are definitely too big. I need a 6.5 next time.

That new wholecut EG Chelsea would look sweet in cloud hatch, maybe on R1 soles. Damnit, the pull is strong with this swatch. The lady will not be pleased.

That makes sense, as most size down a half size from rain to soller.
