Yeah, after comparing both, I think the close heel and flat welt would best suit the chukka.

To summarize.....

This chukka (Carmina 905 5 eyelet with close heel, flat welt, leather soles, or possibly Dainite?)

In Noix suede.

On Soller (or Forest) last.

Any interest out there?

So you definitely have me down, except for Dainite. Just find it to lack any real benefit. Prefer alden type commando or leather with a rubber addition if I choose to go that route.

I'm find with leather, if that works for you.

Now, we just need to find some more guys. Perhaps we'll have to spread this around a few threads.

Oh, and how do you feel about pull tabs? Some of the 905 models have them, some don't. I think they'd be a good addition, but it's not a deal breaker for me.

Would prefer not as I have pairs and never use them. But also not a deal breaker for me. Want to post it up on the carmina shoe porn thread? Personally I think this would be a brilliant casual/business casual make up.

Hi Kashiwa!

Great idea with the chukka! Unfortunately, Carmina recently seems to reluctant on interchanging lasts.

Last time I've checked with Betty, the 5-eyelet 905 chukka is only avail in Rain last.

If you are looking for something in Soller how about this 10025 model (3 eyelet) in noix suede?

Hi Steve, thanks for the info!

From what I've seen, they have done the 905 on Rain and Simpson (pretty similar chiseled lasts, I think). Sounds like they are not willing to do the 905 on wider, rounder Soller or Forest.

I think the model you posted is the 80176, no?

Pretty sure this is the 10025, no?

I like the 80176 a lot. I think that could work. And I think MSchapiro would be happy with the three eyelet as well.

FWIW, I also like the booted cousin of the 10025, the 10016. It's a v tip blucher boot, but still similar to a chukka in terms of height and look. And it has 5 eyes.

I could be happy with either 80176 or 10016 in noix suede on soller, but I would like to go for the chukka (80176) first.

You are right its the 80176! 3 eyelet chukka. sorry about the confusion with model nubmers ;)

I think the chukka in soller will look quite amazing in noix suede.

Yes, indeed. This will be a great makeup. Now we just need some more people right? We have three, do we then need three more?

Any sizing advice one Soller vs. Alden? If I'm a 11.5 in Barrie and TB (12TTS), safe to go UK11 on Soller?

yep just need 3 more.

barrie and van seems to be half size bigger then your TTS  normal US sizing so I would def recommend 11 UK for you.

Soller is also wider last like Inca and Rain :)

Awesome. UK11 for me then. Now to get three more.

That is a chocolate. Ideally we'd do Noix.

Thats what I meant. You would do it in Noix. I know Steve and I have also discussed Spice suede which would be a killer chukka
