I feel like the tanker would look better as a little taller boot, such as (minus speed hooks off course):

500x399px-LL-eec9db23_tumblr_mnpar5IbjF1rrw9tuo5_r1_500.jpeg

especially in burgundy shell

Thanks for the pictures Steve. Do you mind if I repost onto the thread?

Would like the opinion of the other saddle shell mto participants. When I saw the picture, the thought popped into my mind I'd prefer a softer shape as opposed to the sharper taper and chisel of rain. Opinions on maybe forest or inca?

I may be in if it would be on forest (or even robert?) or something with a softer toe, also depending on the final design.

Any chance you would consider burgundy shell?

I think this would be an excellent Fall make-up

I would be in for:

Tanker
Burnished scotch grain
all eyelets
commando soles
rain last

Those Tanker boots sounds perfect for upcoming fall! Looks like we have 2 different options/routes at this point.

1. Rain Last & Scotch grain (we have 2 interests so far) SoGent, how do you feel about this in Rain? (that will make 3!)

2. Forrest Last & burgundy shell (easy_golfing)

Also, anyone interested in the Tassel loafer in loden suede or dark brown suede?

we have 3 interests already at this point in dark brown suede btw!

WireandTired! Please! feel free to post up those pictures :) I think Forrest or Inca might still work for others interested in saddle shell punched captoe MTO since they are all wider lasts.

Scotch grain tanker I might be in

What is the inca in comparison to forest and rain?

Here is a description of those lasts from the Armoury

Inca - Widest last and waist for wide feet (EE width)
Rain - Like the Inca but with a chisel toe (EE width)
Forest - Standard width with round toe (E width)

Here is a comparison (thanks to NAMOR)...the wingtip is in Rain, the double monk is in Inca, and the single monk is in Rain

Hey Young,

Do you know if Carmina can offer this model 80105 on the Rain Last?

CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v62), quality = 100

I've been drooling over these since I saw them, but as I have no way of finding out my Simpson size without having to pay for return shipping overseas (or of knowing if the last will even fit my feet at all), I figured I'd see about getting a group MTO to get them made on the Rain.

Btw, new ties look great. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Oh yea! I dont see why not! :) what color did you have in mind?

If not we can always do a very similarly designed 10051 in Rain and we can order without the medallion in the front! :)

I held off on getting any staple-like shoes for a while, because I'm like that. Double monks, loafers, suede, etc. Then I got these and was not excited for them. To my surprise, they're my favorite shoes now. I wear them as often as I can, they're so versatile. I'm not a fan of broguing on the cap as I'm a bit of a minimalist when it comes to shoes, so these were great. Too bad Simpson doesn't fit you.

Hopefully you can get the right color. Not sure what Skoak got but it's not quite burgundy and it looks effing great.

Well, it would be a deal breaker for me if we couldn't get the exact model as I'm really in love with the details of that particular shoe (no fringe on the brogueing, cleaner lines, etc.). As for color, I'd love the same color that mrjester has shown. It's called Burdeos Claro. If that's not an option, I'm also a fan of their Vegano Marron which is seen here:

Yea, these have been near the top of my list for awhile now. It's the simplicity of the brogueing that really draws me in. They're amazing.
