Sometimes I wake up in the morning and just don't give a $#!t and just grab whatever and run off to work. My beater suit happens to be a HUGO BOSS. My "nice" suits will be in REST mode for about a month.

A pinstripe Isaia MTM suit that I bought several years ago. The stripes are fading and the style is a little off now, but I love that suit. When I don't give a hoot, that's the one I wear.

Holy macaroon! Your beater is a freaking Isaia?! You must have some killer wardrobe collection if that's your beater.

Boss is a great beater suit. The cut is pretty good, and maybe this is all in my mind, but the lower quality fabric is heavier and holds up to wear and tear better than my nicer, softer fabrics. Of course that could just be in my mind because I am less concerned with tearing the pants lol

BTW, I wish Isaia MTM were a beater suit for me lol Baller!

My beater is a lowly HSM that I thrifted for about $15. It's not super high quality, but it fits so well that I wear it more than a lot of my nicer stuff. In fact, I'm wearing it today.

I've got one of the forum-classic Wizard of Aahs suits that was one of my first purchases. The thing actually fits me quite well, but it's clearly not up to snuff compared to the rest of my suits.

why do you keep saying "in my mind." Anyhow, yes, my Boss jacket is heavy (not weight wise) and thicker and is freaking wrinkle resistant. Wonder if HUGO BOSS learned something and passed it down while making uniforms for the Nazis.

That's a nice looking beater and a great find for just $15. Not too familiar with the brand though.

My Z Zegna suits. Slightly fashion forward, fused canvass but fit oh-so-well. They also happen to be the first purchases I had made upon discovering SF. Still holding up quite well.

A Fitz 1818 that I found at a consignment store for $150. A shade lighter than charcoal and didn't seem to have been worn much at all when I bought it. Only needed about $40 in alterations, too!

I have 3 beater suits: BOSS (fused) navy pinstripe, Versace (fused) tan summer suit and a Canali Proposta in taupe.

What??? That's a good find.

I think I used to have a Calvin Klein(?) suit that I bought like ten years ago (probably my first suit). I should go back to my parents' house and dig that one up and take it to my tailor and add one more to my beater wardrobe colleczion.

Yeah, it wasn't really random luck. I've probably been to that store at least three dozen times and I am a 40R in most and a 40L sometimes so my size doesn't seem to come up very often - at least not at the thrift and consignment stores I visit.

Usually I leave with nothing, or a tie, but they carry only very good quality stuff and it's not that far from me so it's worth the repeated visits to find a great deal once in a while.

They carry some really amazing stuff, but usually in sizes 44 and higher.

Ah~ you must live in some rich neighborhood in Boston where the rich throw away...just because. I gotta dig around Northern Virginia.
