I have also recently returned to Australia after living in Europe for 10 years. I find myself increasingly disappointed by the range, quality and most of all the prices here when it comes to quality clothing. I have taken note of the odd suggestion given on this thread, but cannot get rid of my ultimate frustration. 

 

I have since resigned myself to ordering online and or buying on overseas trips. 

 

Good to know I am not the only frustrated 'Aussie' out there.

I agree with most of the above, although there are a few gems amongst the dross, such as the opening of Double Monk in Melbourne. Some stores such as Herringbone or MJ Bale also have reasonable clothes, although their ranges haven't always been great of late.
