How long is your blazer jacket supposed to be?

I went to get my first blazer tailored. I told him to take it up a couple of inches and he said that would be way too short :/ So I just told him to take it up to "what its supposed to be"

Cover your ass.

The front on the jacket should reach the bottom of your balls. Unless you have really saggy balls. Then it should reach to just above your saggy balls.

Generally it should cover your ass and on the front end up where your crotch is. That said, the buttoning point is important to remember. With today's idiotic trend of high button points, I feel that the jacket needs to be shorter to look balanced. I've had a few otherwise "correct" length jackets shortened a bit because they looked unbalanced because the button point was higher.
