Previous Friday Challenge

original challenge

With temperatures steadily rising across the northern hemisphere it's time to bring out the cool wearing linens! And boy do they wrinkle!

To hell with perfectly pressed garments, this challenge is all about inappropriate sprezzatura of suburbia!

You work at a credit union in bum fuck Missouri where none of your colleagues have ever even heard about spalla camica yet alone own more than their one black suit? You are the smallest cog in the larger rack-wheel of the giant gearbox that is the soul sucking conglomerate you're working for? Where after five years of slaving and grinding the extra hours your superior still doesn't remember your name and simply refers to you as worker drone #17?

Go! Get on the most outlandish wrinkle sprezz ensemble one can imagine and wrinkle your way to work on Friday!

Don't be no Dorian Gray! Accept the wrinkles!

To get that perfect wrinkle make sure to throw your jacket against the wall a couple times before putting it on teacha.gif

All items linen are permitted, may they be jacket, shirt or tie. All linen was created equal but some linens are more equal than others!

Users may select more than one candidate!

May the most nonchalant of them all win!

Some people wore neither linen nor wrinkles and sneaked tropical wool, cotton and seersucker into the challenge but for I am not to judge I included them anyway. It is now in the hands of the voter to bring them to justice.

And in response to request for "inappropriate sprezzatura", well you called it...aside from the bright PS...

Yes, navy contrast stitching everywhere.  Because fuck you. :)

DFIH super tie-boner; because you know you want it.

Linen-appropriate canvas spectators.  Plus random sock-rocking, because.  Just because.

And the killer blow: dinky cufflinks, and offensive timepiece.

This may not be the best linen of the day.  But I reckon it's the most by square yards, and the cheapest, and the nastiest sprezz too.  Give it to me good. bounce2.gif

On the hoof. (Click to show)

On a day like today, all 250lb men wear three piece suits.  Probably.

End of the day...holding up, but definitely wrinkly.

Warning: And special nasty bits, just for you, Del-Boy. (Click to show)

Wrinkly back.

And better still, wrinkly sack.

Modest deetz (Click to show)

Suit: 100% linen, local cack-handed tailor

PS: silk satin, no brand

Shirt: Tyrwhitt

Cufflinks: don't know, gift from (now ex-)wife

Tie: Givenchy, gift from someone else's wife (cause of parenthesis above)

Indian Ocean, palm trees: God

I wore my linen yesterday as the weather was much better than the forecast for today, which was awful, only to get rained on! It hailed about an hour after this!! censored.gif
Wrinkly linen for trousers, shirt, coat and pocket square. I made the bow-tie myself out of some old linen/wool mix trousers that had worn out.

I thought this guy killed the competition years ago? He looks like he's wearing an empty potato sack...

But I'll play, I will definitely play come Friday........ nod[1].gif

Damn damn damn. All I have a the moment is the cream linen (which has been worn several times in the last few weeks). I've a blue linen due to be picked up at the tailors late next week too. Would have been perfect.

I haven't posted any fits for ages because I haven't had much new to share.  I've also been trying to move house.  Three times (don't ask).

But I do have linen.  And it's always wrinkly.  And I wear linen at least half the time, all year round because it's hot.  Inappropriate sprezzatura?  Hoho fuck yeah.

I am so in for this.  bounce2.gif
