Anyone have good experiences with purchasing EG from Gentry NYC? I ask because I tried two different items via different ways and both times were unnsuccesful. I first tried sending an email about the grey wool flannel classic shirt on a Saturday afternoon sometime after the 15% off sale discount went live since I was about to head off off to dinner with damn and never got a response. Then yesterday morning right after checking the site and seeing my size still available for purchase I called them and left a message since there was no answer (it was before they opened) about wanting to purchase the navy Irving pants, left my information and asked if they could hold and call me back to complete the order and nevet got a return call. I was tied up at work all day so I actually called them again on my way home and when the SA went to check they had sold out of my size. I mentioned that I had called and it seemed like they weren't even aware and just passed that thought over.

I know it happens, but when you can't purchase EG directly online and need to either email or call a store to do so, I would expect a better response time policy or just a response in general even if it is to let a potential buyer know the item is not available.

i was excited to have another US stockist, but not sure if I'll give them another go after these frustrating experiences. I never had any issues with Nepenthes, Drinkwaters, Context, etc. Ah well, sorry for the rant.

Have to say that this is the complete opposite of my experience, unfortunately. I emailed them late on the Thursday about a couple of items at the end of November when they first went on sale. They got back to me on the Friday, emailed back and forth about a few things and I completed my order on the Saturday morning. My items were shipped on the Monday and they were delivered to me in the UK 2 days later.

I couldn't have been happier with the process and would happily recommend them, so it's disappointing to hear you have some trouble.

SF member JO3B works at Gentry and is probably your best bet for help. I don't have a current email for him (mbaquerizo@hwcarterandsons.com was it pre-gentry), but you can PM him and probably get his direct contact.

Anyone tried on the work jacket?
Wondring how it fits - sizing wise, compared to the CPO

I also sent an email on Friday about the grey classic shirt (size small) strangely enough and never received an answer. Went in on Monday and had a great experience as always, really good guys, but they had sold out of the shirt.  I don't know if maybe their system had a fluke but I have ordered from them before and had nothing but great experiences.  That was the only time I've had a problem.

@tonio028 maybe you just hit them on a bad day or something with the weather and all. FWIW and I know it doesn't help since they sold out your size but I just emailed about an EG jacket, was responded to, paid, and got a shipping confirmation all in 90 minutes.

sounds frustrating, but like others have mentioned, had a good experience with gentry myself--called, they answered a couple Qs about the item, and then submitted payment, no issues.
