speaking of the usn pants, just got the olive whipcord pair i bought off yoox. blown away. i own enough eg at this point that i shouldn't be surprised by how nice the garments are, but I always am. whipcord fabric is super super tough and construction is awesome, so many details. also, the fit is a perfect slim straight fit. going to be getting a lot of wear out of these. the more eg i buy the more i fall in love with the brand. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

I can't point to a source but I might try some narrow-ish cotton herringbone tape. Think that's what's used in the recent fatigue shorts. Probably a bitch to thread through the pant hem, though.

Herringbone tape would be good. To feed it through the hem, you can use a strong wire to push it through (make a loop at the end of the wire) or tie it to something smaller that you can more easily move inside the hem (like a closed safety pin or paperclip).

Better craft stores or online resources like etsy are good places to source tapes: http://www.etsy.com/listing/117614366/3-yards-of-cotton-herringbone-tape-black

I saw those for like $98 bucks, good find man! I think its damn near impossible to not establish a deeper relationship (lol) with the brand the more you realize how great everything fits in, and how easy it all is to wear together.

yeah i think i paid like $120 or so, absolutely friggin worth it. for the longest time i've strayed away from eg pants because i assumed the legs were going to be too full for me (they look great on you, just not what i'm going for), but the cinch back pants that came with my andover fit so damn well it gave me faith.

^What robin said, I've always used a safety pin to rethread drawstrings.

I'm definitely finding this. I only discovered the brand just over a year ago and bar the odd thing here and there the majority of the clothing I've bought has been EG. I really love the various different cuts and fabrics and the various pieces I've got seem to work together or make me think about putting combinations together that I wouldn't necessarily. From that, I guess, it is making me more adventurous in what I wear and what I would consider buying.

Speaking of which, I just picked up the Black and Blue cord Workaday fatigues and the looser cut is amazing. A great alternative to everything else I have which is quite slim. I'm still not quite convinced that black is a colour way for me and may exchange them for the olive ones but that would be the obvious choice. I'm hoping that was down to the bad light in my hotel room last night and will change when I get back home in a few days. Also, one of the shops I emailed a few weeks back just got back to me about the blue and grey Lafayette pants I've been after all season. Just my luck after I'd given up hope. Might try and find the funds to justify buying them too as I've just been really bored recently of wearing denim all the time.

I'd be interested in hearing peoples thoughts about the this seasons collection now we've all seen most of it outside of the lookbook. I can't really compare to past collections (should really look through some old lookbooks) but there is a ton of product that I think is great this season. I've found that my favourite items have changed as the season has gone on and thought about how I'd wear them with the pieces I already own. There are about 8 or 9 pieces on top of the items I've already bought that I would love to own. Have spent most of my budget but will try and pick another couple of items up come the sales if they are still about.

If you're in colder climates then I would definitely go with the melton, otherwise be aware that the serge is a diagonal cord-like fabric and therefore visually similar to the whipcord you already have, although the serge will never fade in color whereas the whipcord certainly will over time.

The mainline fatigue pant also came with a shoelace type drawstring already in the ankles, I believe up to 08-09.

I've noticed that the more eg I own, the more all of the colors and shades fit together and I can just throw on clothes in the morning.
