Apparently Rob Ford, the Mayor of Toronto, Smokes Crack - Page 9

I think everyone handled Ford incorrectly. From the start the city elites and core area liberals were excoriating him, the people that voted for him, and wearing ash and sack clothe in mourning that their great city, a bastion and beacon of enlightenment, would have such a "conservative" (he's not really) buffoon as their mayor. Ford was in complete FU mode way before this and his whole term has been one long Viking funeral and will be until the day he's not re-elected or is arrested on criminal charges.

This whole thing is no doubt further polarizing the suburbs vs. the city and could be a turning point in the history of GTA politics.

Now if a video of Rob eating a salad showed up I might pay a buck to see that.

I think this pretty much shows that he can't be blackmailed or extorted.

I mean...some guy had a video of him smoking crack with drug dealers and wanted money for it. Did that guy go to him first? Did word not get to Ford when he was shopping the video around?

Looks like he said IDGAF instead of caving to the extortion.

Agreed Ford is way beyond extortion. He is however a traveling circus which is not good for the city in terms of both image and getting the work of the city done.

Well he seems to have put one of his drug dealer friends (unrelated to the crack smoking incident) on the hunt for the video, so...

I guess the only cool thing about Ford is that drug dealers have better access to him than city elites, which I find hilarious.

Maybe Ford wanted to create some buzz for GTA

He has succeeded. Toronto is a great international city but I don't think it was in any top ten list as to Google searches, and social media type of stuff.

It will be while Ford is Mayor. If all publicity is good publicity, then GTA owes Ford some gratitude.

I had never heard of the guy. I bet all Canadians and many Americans know of Ford, and thus GTA now.

If there is a Nobel related to Crack, I nominate Rob Ford.

that isn't entirely how it went down.

The picture (a still from the video) shows Ford with three men, one of which is dead and one of which is in jail. There are questions swirling around the death of the man pictured with Ford and its peculiar timing. Also, the news of the existence of the tape came out in court documents of one of Ford's associates who has been charged with extortion in connection to the tape. So it clearly shows that Ford was very interested in concealing the tape, although he may not have wanted to pay 200gs for it.

Also, Ford had his staffers solicit at least one known 'hacker' to attempt to delete the tape.

He's such a buffoon. I'm surprised no one has ever mentioned his similar appearance to Rush Limbaugh.

He reminds me more of Chris Farley in a way.

Chris Farley was born to play the lead role in the Rob Ford biopic! I've cursed the fates every day of the Ford term that Farley was taken from us before he could fulfill his destiny.

I still think he's getting railroaded because he's an obese, white, cis, het, male.

Can you imagine Chris Christie getting caught smoking crack?
