Can the jacket be used as Blazer in summer? Or Does it have to be a suit?

It could probably pass, but I would buy the full suit and use it as separates when necessary.

Not a bad idea. Thanks

Yes, easily. The linen-cotton fabric is very casual. Not made of suiting.

Some here will mark points off for the lack of patch pockets, which some consider essential for a blazer. But it's fine.

Couldn't agree more. Spoo wears linen blazers a lot, I think without patch pockets sometimes, so it's worth giving his blog a read for some ideas.

It's a pretty tacky looking thing - far too short and just buttons sewn on the end of the sleeves, not even sham button holes. Avoid.

No, it will always be an orphan suit jacket, BUT the general population won't care and will call it a "blazer," so you'll be fine.
