the Jerusalem episode was good, and the Granada one gorgeous to look at but it was really strange that he didn't devote 1 sec to the current economic situation in Spain

Just saw the episode about Noma in Copenhagen. Thought is was really good. Beach foraging, hippie utopian enclaves, Lilliputian theme parks and crazy weird food combinations (fermented pear, onion stew with salt made of wood ants).

Have any of the Danish SFers been there? Maybe Kaplan?

^i'd be curious to hear as well

Haven't been to Noma, it's about 400$+ a person and there's a 4-6month wait.

I thought it was odd, that they mentioned that tivoli is the worlds second oldest amusement park and didn't mention, that the oldest is located right outside Copenhagen.

Also there's plenty of other good restaurants in Copenhagen besides Noma, Copenhagen has 15 Michelin starts and Noma only accounts for 2, the worlds only Thai Michelin star, is located in Copenhagen, not bad for a city of 700k.

Parts Unknown S2 was excellent: loved the Detroit, Jerusalem and South Africa episodes the most! Although New Mexico was damn cool too.

yeah I was mostly disappointed with s1 but this batch of episodes was really good. Agreed with your list (except NM which bored me), although the best overall segment might've been the Robot Battle in Tokyo.

any hawaiians here? I just made poi. pretty good starchy base for other stuff: grilled fish, veggies.

Will be in Chicago this weekend and will probably get some Italian Beef at some point. Do I go Portillio's, Mr. Beef, or other?

Going to my favourite Italian restaurant for lunch on Sunday, to fuel me for shopping in the afternoon!smile.gif

You're about a week late, but perhaps others can learn from your knowledge.

Alas, I only made one mistake with my dining dollars while in Chicago. I had the donuts from Glazed and Infused. They were fine, but at $3 a pop, not that good.

Loaded my cooler with frozen pizzas from Lou Malnatii's (my personal fave).
