My Olympic ray bans are gold and g15, but that silver version is really cool too!

Don't think they did. But maybe the very first..

Thanks for putting this thread together. I just came across a pair of black Wayfarers that I think are legit. They feel substantially heavier than my non-glass lensed glasses.

I've snapped a couple of photos trying to capture the markings:

B&L on the front of both lenses

B&L Rayban U.S.A. on the inside of the right arm

Wayfarer on the inside of the left arm

B&L5024 above the right lens on the inside of the frame

Do these appear to be legit, and is there any way to put an age on them? 1950's, 60's, 70's, 80's?

Real. Hard to say a date for sure...I'd guess early 80s
5024s give your nose some breathing room

Real? Nice, thanks. They do fit my narrow head a little loose. Wondering if a good shop could manipulate the arms a bit to get a little more squeeze on the melon.

A good optical shop can heat and fit your temples for you...or you can soak them in hot (not boiling) water and adjust them yourself...

I use a place called eytiqe...they have yet to charge me a penny

So for my birthday I got myself my favorite pair of sunglasses I ever had. Explorer drivers with b20 chromax lenses...listed new without tags....on ebay

They arrived today, and the first thing I notice is that the backs of the lenses exhibit nasty chromax coating failure.
They are otherwise in excellent like new condition.
Listing says no returns, however I dispute that such an item is in fact new without tags.

Thoughts, feelings, opinions, criticisms?

Ive got 8 B20 im total, never saw duch defect...
Doesnt look good to me. You have more pictures?

There is another pic of the same defect somewhere in this haystack of a thread...doesn't seem to effect the view through the glasses...
Seller refunded 60% of purchase price, so I feel like I didn't get burned paying collector prices for daily wear glasses

My drifters shipped out today...maybe when they show up I can see what Hillary really looks like....they live....we sleep

I have two vintage pairs I think are from the 1960s at the latest. On the right side they say B&L RAY-BAN USA. On the left side the say WAYFARER. Above the right lens on one pair it says B&L 5022 and on the other pair B&L 5024

They have no Ray-Ban logos on the side, just the same metal oblong metal piece that is on the front. Can you date them? Thanks!
