I answered "My dad". But I also greatly admire Fred Astaire, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Windsor, Richard Gere (in American Gigolo shog[1].gif ), and so many others. But my dad was the one who dressed me when I was a kid, guided me on what was acceptable for which occasions and taught me to tie a tie. He was the first man who I paid attention to. I thought he always looked good and was proud of the way he presented himself. So it is natural I think that his early influence on me is probably the most influential. Though he is no longer alive I still rely on his lessons to guide me in what I wear.

The specific Prince of Wales ,to whom you refer, is the same person as the Duke of Windsor, a title conferred on
him after his abdication as Edward VIII.

James Bond from the Connery era. His style is so simple, yet very refined. Simple suits with a black/navy knit tie or grenadine. Watching JB movies together with my brother and dad was definitely what got me interested in dressing up from a very early age.

Everyone who's ever started a "Please critique my...." thread inspires me to avoid looking like them.

I wish that I could say something cool like "James Bond," but Skyfall was the first one that I watched, and by now, the clothes in the older ones just look dated and full-fitting. Disclaimer: I don't think that the suits in Skyfall fit particularly well either.
