And one more on the same design

Acronym FW07 V1 Airvantage Thermally Adaptive Vest

and the original

Mountain Research again

Field vest SS13

with an unfortunate back pouch

All those models are just glorified hunting vests/game bags though (the demimoore one is probably based on some vintage filson thing), just more streamlined and with better fabrics / colors

and Facetasm again

Vintage (possibly 1930's, according to seller.  Seems doubtful to me.)

Are you still getting the Bless one ? The lack of back pouch is a plus and the inside zipper is cool, my only fear is that it might be a bit too loose to be worn comfortably under a jacket (obvious solution being to start wearing looser jackets)

More vintage c.1910 (possibley DIY ?)

Sip, that one you just posted is really nice.

I do want to get the Bless one, but I'm shelling out so much outfitting the new apartment that I'm not sure $600 on something that goofy is wise, especially when I could add that onto my couch budget.

I think I'm mostly just hesitant because I'm not sure how to layer it with stuff I currently own.  I think under the fuzzy Dana Lee teddy bear jacket would be good.  what about under the light green junya jacket?  that's loose in a way that would work.  Maybe under camo APC jacket with a down vest over that.  DOUBLE VEST.  Maybe just straight up under a vest.

I don't even know anymore!!! I want to sell everything and wear only damir doma and Ann D lows

I've just been feeling disenchanted with clothes lately.  This is the first thing I've gotten excited about in a while so maybe I should just go for it

I feel you.
I've been thinking about making my own version tbh. The design is basic enough, how difficult can it really be ? (overoptimism check). I feel this is the kind of garment that allows for a bit of amateurism since the fit, the way it drapes etc don't really factor into the equation.

I like the way you think

(Old Damir or new Damir ? !)

what's the tipping point though ? 2011 ? 2012 ? 2013 ?

probably aw11 was his last good collection, though there have been some nice pieces in the subsequent seasons

in the context of this thread, i considered these two but decided they were not worth it for whatever reason. nice fabrics, especially the second, and surprisingly warm given how precious they appeared

then he went fishing next

Prada/Miu Miu were pretty big on that kind of stuff around 1999-2000. The SS99 and FW99 collections have lots of sling bags/fanny packs/belts variations, big emphasis on functionality, uniform-likes somewhat repetitive collections with limited and drab color palettes (greys, greens, beiges) and lots of synthetic/tech fabrics and sportswear inspired elements (plastic buckles and drawcord toggles fastenings, some jackets even have slings like Acronym and RO). They're a great example of Prada's brand of minimalism and sit somewhere between Jil Sander and Helmut Lang collections of the time.

The bag you posted is from the FW99 Men collection @4:13

that collection had some really serious tech stuff @3:58

(and a bulletproof like vest, ahem...)

Fuck yeah, I knew it had to be crossbody, looks good even for today, prada had some really cool stuff back then, it was one of my go-to labels pre-sf, I had a couple shoes from that era that I loved along with some miumiu moonsole lasercut slip-on leather boots, that video brings back lots of good memories, I used to lust after those minimalist/futuristic military inspired outfits back in the late 90's early 00's.

I like several vests in here but couldn't pull off most, currently I only have 3 but wear them quite often and thinking of getting more, my favorite is a ts(s) quilted iridescent chambray, that thing looks good with just about everything in my current wardrobe, do wish it had more pockets though.

What do you think about something like this,
I like it, has nice pockets although could be bigger, but I can see myself getting a lot of use from it, especially if its not too warm, but unsure how the fabric would feel against bare skin, wondering if it would feel plasticky and therefore encourage neck sweat, (ideally I'd get the stealth jacket first but hard to find black in my size).

Yeah I'm actually surprised at how current the Prada stuff looks, that goes for most minimalistically inclined collections I guess.

I like the sisp scarf but I wish it had a tiny strap in the back so you could wear it open like in that pic and it wouldn't swing around when you move or bend forward, so less like a scarf more like a vest biggrin.gif
The fabric is probably pretty soft and silky (no idea though, just based on how other similar insulation pieces feel) so it should be alright, a merino insert would've been great though for that extra toastiness and sweat management.

SISP also had that dorky hood + dickey with small zip pocket (not the hoodscarf thing) but I can't seem to find any pic.

edit: oh yeah here it is

Modular hood

If I get it I was thinking of adding snaps at the beginning of the widened part and snap that to a black leather strap to keep it in place when worn as an outer since I dont like how it flaps wide like in the pic, but now that you mention it I could probably just wear it like that even when used under something else.
