METROPOLIS - 1927

Although this was listed as #90 on the All-Time List, it was listed much higher in the Leonard Maltin's 100 Must See Films List I recently posted.

This restored black and white classic is a remarkable film, which seduces the viewer as the drama unfolds. The division between labor and industrial capitalists is a remarkable story which can be abstracted from the present course of our country.

Enjoy.

SEVEN

Getting surprised at the ending does not take away repeated viewings of this thriller movie - all from the last decade when Hollywood still made consistent studio films for fans.

Getting by, having a dream, starting with a grub stake, partnering up, getting ahead, greed . . . and an end that (spoiler)

An ah-ha moment with our new bedroom addition (5 feet from the foot of our King size bed):

65" Samsung HD LED Smart TV from one of the "clubs", with matching Blue-Ray DVD player, and Sound Bar - all for under $1850.

Seems that all of my pre-Blue Ray Dvds get converted automatically UP though the Blue Ray Player and HD screen to an amazing resolution! Can't explain why - but I found a nearby pawn shop selling thousands of non-Blue Rays for $2 each.

Although many are not on the top 250 film lists, my wife and I have been amazed at many of the classic TV Seasons on DVD, such as HIGHWAY PATROL - which ran for four seasons and a gazillion episodes back in the 1950's. The quality is amazing.

As for films, I am revisiting everything from our home library collection. Even if some of the Top 250 were not to my liking, in this BIG experience the critic's pleasure is starting to seep through because the feeling is more film like than "TV" viewing.

(I'd post a picture, but nothing would equal what it actually looks like)
