Importing Japanese denim to the UK

I live in the UK (Birmingham) and I am looking to try to get hold of some good Japanese jeans, probably eternal 811, or else some studio 103's or pure blue. However, I am yet to find a shop that sells imported Japanese denim in the UK. So I am left with the option of either ordering from a shop in the US or direct from Japan. Therefore I have a few questions I would appreciate help with:

- Does anyone know of any shops which sell *** denim in the UK. I have no problem in getting down to London if need be.

- Has anyone in the UK had any experience in ordering from either the US or Japan? How much did you have to pay for shipping, did you have to pay import tax etc...

If anyone is able to share their experiences with me (of ordering jeans...) and/or give advice that would be a great help.

regards

In London I shop at American Classics for Sugarcane and across the road at Interstate for Edwin - these are both on Endell street in Covent Garden. The staff - particularly at American Classics - are very helpful and know their stuff.

You can also buy Sugarcane online through togged.com but beware, they are a lot more than if you had them imported from Japan.

Another option is Ironheart which you can buy direct from ironheart.co.uk

I've used a proxy buyer as well to get stuff direct from Japan and had no problems at all. There are a few listed here and on Superfuture. Read some recommendations first, I can vouch for Parachutes and 2000db. The items I ordered were kindly marked as gifts so no extra duty needed to be paid. However this is entirely at the discretion of the proxy.

I've seen the Eternals available on Ebay from Zipangu Treasures but have no experience of buying from them.

mate, you can get canes in bham, nottingham and london. ALthough I cant remember where, american classics in covent garden only have the standard canes.

I use celga, or a proxy service on SuFu.

However...... kiya is a very good option, especially at the current exchange rate!

I have bought eternal, pure blue, canes, samurai all from japan, I dont think any of the models I have are available in the UK. You see eternals 811 on ebay alot though...
